13 Reasons Why

Most Netflix addicts by now know the hit series 13 Reasons Why, the story of Hannah Baker, a girl who killed herself and left behind tapes for her classmates explaining how they contributed to her fate. This author has yet to indulge in the series yet – saving it for a lazy weekend – however, the book that the series was based on, originally released in 2007 by Jay Asher, is a classic favorite of mine. Outsiders started on WGN America in 2016 with a storyline shroud in mystery. On the one side is the Farrells – a family of mountain folk separated from society living off of a mountain in the Appalachians, and on the other is the town that sits at the base of the mountain, who has heard the whispers of the family and their power, but falls behind a national mining company who wants to evict the mountain residents and strip the mountain for its coal. Two things stood out during the third series of American Horror Story. This season, titled Coven, was yet again dominated by Jessica Lange; however, her performance was closely followed and equally praised by Kathy Bates. Despite  extreme mainstream media obstacles, a very polarizing campaign and overwhelming poll projections, Trump won presidency off of urban areas and middle-classing working citizens vastly outperforming expectations while other demographics had lower voter turnout than projected. This win also means a man in the WWE Hall of Fame has become president. Perhaps this sets up The People’s Champion to lay the smackdown on the electoral college next year under the Brahma Bull party.
